Ashley Roberts has been advised to freeze her eggs

The 34-year-old singer - who is currently single - was stunned to learn she could face a struggle to conceive if she leaves it much longer to have children, but opted to go against medical advice and let "nature take its course".

She said: "On my last trip to the gynaecologist, she told me to start thinking about freezing my eggs. I couldn't believe it!

"I was like, 'If these bad boys are about to give up we need 'em frozen.'

"But I didn't do it. I decided that I'd let nature take its course."

Ashley's best friend and former Pussycat Dolls bandmate Kimberly Wyatt is now a mother to daughter Willow, five months, the star is relieved it hasn't affected their friendship.

She told Britain's Star magazine: "At first I was convinced things would never be the same again and it was scary because it made me realise we were both growing up.

"Our relationship has grown too though, which is lovely."

And Ashley adores little Willow and can't wait to spend more one-on-one time with the youngster.

She said: "I'm in love with that child. I mean, I was pretty much there at the birth.

"She is such a joy to have around.

"I cannot wait until she's old enough for us to have Willow and auntie Ashley days."
