Hailey Baldwin has been "shocked" by the abusive texts and voice mails she has received since her phone number was leaked.

The 19-year-old model had the misfortune of her digits being made public over the weekend and although initially she was not bothered by the leak she has been surprised by how many people decided to take the opportunity to send her hateful messages.

Hailey admits she is "bummed that people think horrible stuff" about her but won't let other people's negativity define her.

In a series of Twitter posts, she wrote: "Honestly my number being leaked is whatever. Just a headache. I'm just genuinely shocked at the things that were texted and said to me ... I'm just bummed that people think all this horrible stuff about me. But that's the world we live in! Anyyywayyys have a good night :) (sic)"

Even though Hailey has received countless abusive messages she has had some supportive words from lots of concerned individuals.

She tweeted: "And to the rest of u who are so sweet and kind thank u I see it everyday. :) #youloyal #yousmart #iappreciatethat (sic)"

And the blonde beauty - whose father is actor Stephen Baldwin - hinted she has had support from some of her good friends since her number was shared.

Hailey - who is close pals with Justin Bieber, with romance rumours constantly following the pair around - tweeted: "In life you'll come across people that are so special you'll do anything for them. Those are the people you hold onto!"

Although Hailey and Justin have never confirmed whether or not they're dating, the 'Sorry' singer did post a photo of the two smooching over New Year's in Anguilla, while the pair were on vacation.

Her father Stephen, 49, also claimed they were "just friends" when asked about their relationship but insisted he'd be happy if Justin was Hailey's boyfriend because he's a "wonderful young man".
