Ryan Reynolds "pretty much is Deadpool in real life".
The 39-year-old actor has reprised the comic book character he first played in 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' for a new standalone movie and director Tim Miller says he can't imagine anyone else taking on the role.

He said: "I just never saw anyone else apart from Ryan. In real life, he pretty much is Deadpool. I couldn’t think of anyone else who had the combination of good looks, athleticism, dramatic chops – because he’s a great dramatic actor – and, more importantly, comedy on top.
He’s got that same smart, offbeat sense of humour. He’s f**king raunchy."
The 'Deadpool' movie was originally slated to be filmed five years ago but studio ex ecutives pulled the plug after Ryan's 'Green Lantern'
flopped.
He told The Guardian: "I was so disappointed when we couldn’t do it five years ago. I was thinking: ‘These people don’t know what the f**k they’re talking about.’ I was angry and traumatised. But with hindsight, I can see why now is a much better time. Back then it perhaps hadn’t reached the point where audiences were familiar enough with the genre that we could riff on it. The public wasn’t really ready."
