Rebel Wilson has joked that she got drunk to prepare for her new movie 'How To Be Single'.

The 35-year-old actress plays Robin, a fun-loving woman who enjoys partying and one-night stands, in the new movie and quipped that she took the role so seriously she "got smashed every night".

Speaking at the London premiere of the movie, which was hosted by Laura Whitmore at the Vue cinema in Leicester Square, on Tuesday the 09.02.16, Rebel said: "In the film we are playing single girls in New York City and we all have different ways of coping with being single. My way of coping is just by drinking a lot.

"[To prepare] I had to get smashed every night, but in a totally professional way.

I am a method actor. I hope the BAFTAs recognise that. I also had to tear it up on the dancefloor in a lot of intricate dresses, which is really cool."

Rebel co-stars with Dakota Johnson, Leslie Mann and Alison Brie in the movie and said all four bonded during filming.

She gushed: "It's been amazing. I mean to work with Dakota, Leslie and Alison; we are like a great girl squad."

Meanwhile, Alison, 33, who is engaged to Dave Franco, revealed she prepared by checking out her single friends' Tinder accounts.

She said: "I did enjoy going on my friends’ tinder and swiping right on a lot of guys. Let it rain."

And when asked her advice for finding the right guy, she said: "Be open, it's something that my character learns in the movie. Sometimes, if you're looking for something so specific it becomes really impossible to find, but if you just open yourself up and give off the dating hormones and guys are open to it."

Other stars who attended the premiere included Danielle Lloyd, Jamie Laing, Stooshe and Danielle Armstrong.
