Courtney Love was reportedly kicked out of a Coachella after-party for "being too drunk".

The Hole rocker's boozy night was cut short when she tried to enter Neon Carnival's VIP area on Saturday evening but was swiftly ejected as it was obvious she'd had too much to drink.

A source revealed: "She went to Neon Carnival and got kicked out for being too drunk in the VIP area."

The 51-year-old singer attended the arts and music festival in Indio, California, earlier that day with her boyfriend, director Nick Jarecki, and watched the headline performance from the reunited classic line-up of Guns N' Roses -featuring Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan.

After dancing with Rihanna in the crowd, Courtney followed the 'Work' hitmaker to the airport hangar where the bash was being held and Rihanna's rumoured boyfriend Leo DiCaprio and Kesha were also continuing the party.

But when security saw the "sloppy" blonde star "falling over" they decided she wasn't in a fit state to join the others and had to be physically removed.

The source added to the New York Post newspaper: "She was literally falling over. It just became a little too sloppy, and she was removed. She wasn't coherent at all."

Courtney - who has 22-year-old daughter Frances Bean with her late husband Kurt Cobain - has openly battled drug addiction in the past and underwent therapy sessions in New York with Dr. Edward Ratush, who is an "addiction psychiatrist" who deals with "opiate dependence and treatment".

Despite having too much to drink at Coachella, the 'Malibu' singer recently insisted she is happy to be free of "all" drugs and attributed her Buddhist faith for helping her stay sober.

She said: "All of it, just all of it. There are no more drugs. What really saved me was, obviously going to meetings and stuff like that, but I'm a Buddhist. I chant and I'm really serious about it. I chant twice a day."
