Tom Hanks feels more like he's 18 than 60.

The 'Forrest Gump' star will reach the big milestone on July 9 but says it is difficult to comprehend because he has never felt his age.

He said: "I am gonna be 60. 1956 was a peak year for births in the United States of America. So I'm going to be 60, I feel like I'm 44, and when I was 44 I felt like I was 36, and when I was 36, I felt like I was 24. At 24 I felt like I was 18. So I feel like I'm 18. Can you tell by this high pitched voice of mine? I even sound like I'm 18!"

And Tom - who is married to Rita Wilson, 59, with whom he has grown up children Truman and Chet, as well as Colin and Elizabeth with his first wife Samantha Lewes - is keeping the signs of ageing at bay with yoga, which prevents him from having aches and pains.

However, he doesn't want to take the practice "too far" and pretends he's just doing other exercise when he takes the time for his daily stretches.

He told UK TV show 'Loraine': "So I'm like, OK, I don't even have aches and pains. Because I started stretching. I started doing the yoga. It's the greatest thing.

"But you don't want to go too [far]. You don't want to put on yoga pants and burn incense and chant. I just turn on the radio really loud and count it out. I view it as glorified sit-ups. That's what I say."

The 'Captain Phillips' actor recently proclaimed he has the best job in the world.

He said: "Some people are in showbusiness for twisted reasons. Power. They want to get laid. The money is good.

"But when I stumbled into this, I did it because it was fun and I'm no good at anything else. To get paid to make movies? This is the greatest gig in the world."
