    Courtney Stodden is battling depression.

The 21-year-old reality TV star is six weeks pregnant with her first child with husband Doug Hutchison, 55, but admitted she is anxious about motherhood because of her illness.

She told Us Weekly: "I suffer from depression. My depression affects my appetite, sleeping patterns and overall perspective on life. At times, I have severe insomnia and other times I find myself sleeping too much. I have feelings of hopelessness but experience many moments of absolute euphoria.

"I already love this baby so much. I just fear the thought of motherhood. It's such an overwhelming responsibility and I want to be the very best mommy that I can possibly be."

Courtney has been working on a self-help book and hopes it will inspire others.

She said: "I'm working on a self-help book called 'Blonde & Blue'. It's an explicit in-depth account of my saddest, darkest moments as well as my highs … My hope is by being painfully honest, my story can inspire others."

Courtney - who controversially married Doug when she was just 16 years old - revealed her pregnancy at just four weeks and admitted she was quite emotional.

She said: "It's a bittersweet time for me right now. I'm dealing with a lot of stress and emotions surrounding life and its ups and downs. Doug and I weren't planning on going public with this so soon. I'm only four weeks along in my pregnancy. But some things are out of your control."

The pair split up in 2013 before getting back together less than a year later and Courtney recently opened up about plans to renew their vows on their fifth wedding anniversary on June 21.

She said: "Our relationship right now is really, really good. We're really strong and we're very happy. We're getting ready to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary and we're absolutely going to renew our vows for our fifth wedding anniversary. So, yeah, we're doing really, really well!"
