Anne Hathaway never planned on announcing her baby news.

The 'Devil Wears Prada' star - who has two-month-old son Jonathan with her husband Adam Shulman - has admitted she was never going to reveal she was expecting a child until she spotted the paparazzi snapping photos of her and wanted to be the first person to break the news.

She said: "I hadn't planned on ever confirming it and then I just, I had seen a photographer while I was on vacation, taking a photo, and I just thought, 'It's such a joyful and a sacred experience, you know, carrying life.'

"And I just thought, 'I don't want the first version of this to be out there with me covering or scowling at someone.' You know, that's not representative of the experience, so I chose a photo that I was happy with, and I put it out there."

And the 33-year-old actress opened up about how motherhood was altering her schedule.

She added to Good Morning America: "I'm sorry. I am a new mother and I didn't time the feeding schedule - well, like I have any control over it. My kid was hungry, I had to feed him, I missed the first 20 minutes so I can't tell you about the beginning of the movie."

Meanwhile, Anne is said to be "enjoying every second" of parenthood.

A source said at the time: "Anne is just enjoying every second with her baby boy. They are loving every minute being new parents. He is such a sweet and happy baby. He looks like a mixture between Anne and Adam. Adam has been such a great husband and really supportive to Anne.

"They have many friends and family coming in and out of their home in LA this past two weeks. Anne and Adam's parents have been very helpful with the baby. Anne plans on breastfeeding and wants to experience and feel everything about being a new mother. The new parents have been taking turns taking care of their son during the nights."
