Vanessa Paradis and Lily-Rose Depp have defended Johnny Depp after his estranged wife accused him of domestic abuse.

Johnny's former partner Vanessa, the mother of his two children, Lily-Rose, 17 and Jack, 14, reportedly wrote a letter of support for Johnny after Amber Heard, 30, was granted a temporary restraining order amid claims he left her with a bruised face after throwing an iPhone at her.

According to a letter obtained by TMZ, Vanessa, 43, wrote: "Johnny Depp is the father of my two children. He is a sensitive and loving person and I believe with all my heart that these recent allegations being made are outrageous.

"In all the years I have known Johnny, he has never been physically abusive with me and this looks nothing like the man I lived with for 14 wonderful years."

And Lily-Rose took to Instagram to defend her 52-year-old father, writing: "My dad is the sweetest most loving person I know, he’s been nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and I, and everyone who knows him would say the same."

A source close to Vanessa also insisted that he had never been abusive to her during their relationship.

The insider told PEOPLE: "Never any story in 14 years, never a sense of violence, never a scene. That's so not Johnny and Vanessa. Johnny was very sensitive, both were. It was important to them that they set good examples to their children.

"They were a normal couple. He was a very good father and together they took incredible care of their children."

Another source added: "He and Vanessa never had any violent conflicts."

Johnny and Amber met on the set of 2011 film 'The Rum Diary' and married in February 2015 in Los Angeles, followed by another ceremony in the Bahamas.

Amber filed for divorce last week, two days after Johnny's mother died, and sought a restraining order after claiming she was living in fear of the actor.
