Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum have an "athletic" sex life

The 'Magic Mike XXL' star has praised his wife for her skills in bed and says getting intimate is a great way for the pair to "communicate".

He said: "I like it ... Me and sex are friends. Sex should be something that enriches your life ... It shouldn't be the only reason you're in a relationship. It's one of the clearest ways we can communicate. It boils things down to a very primal level. I just lay there ... She's really athletic. We get down. We have a great sex life. We communicate very well."

And the 36-year-old actor - who has Everly, three, with the 35-year-old actress and dancer - went on to gush about the "fully connected otherworldly connection sex" they have at times.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan in a live Facebook chat, he added: "We don't have sex back into our happiness. That's how we know that there's something we have to talk about. We don't hate-f**k each other.

"We have truly all different kinds of sex. Sometimes it's like, 'Look, you gotta get this done. I gotta go to work.' And then we have full on fully connected otherworldly connection sex."

Meanwhile, Channing previously revealed his love for his wife has deepened since their daughter came into this world.

He wrote on Instagram: "I took this just days after jenna and I (mostly jenna) brought our little girl into the world. I've taken many like it over the past 3 years but this is one of my favourites. She was so tired. Haha. But she has such deep strength and other worldy grace.

"Watching her in those first days transform into a mother was life changing. She was every bit the beautiful, sexy, funny, flawed creature I fell in love with. But the prism turned and showed a whole new light that I had no idea existed, the lights of a mothers love. Thank you for that baby. (sic)"
