Lo Bosworth did her own make-up for ‘The Hills’ television show.

The 29-year-old television personality – who starred in the hit series for during its four-year run – has admitted she had to apply her own cosmetic products prior to filming, although she learned the best beauty tricks from stylists she worked with when she was due to grace the red carpet at star studded events.

Speaking to PEOPLE about the behind the scenes action on set of the reality programme, the blonde beauty said: “When we were on ‘The Hills’, we were getting camera-ready every time we would film.

“We did all of our own makeup ourselves.

“We did work with makeup artists for red carpet appearances, award shows and photo shoots with magazines, so they gave us the tricks of the trade in terms of doing our makeup to the point [where] we were considered camera-ready.”

However, the former ‘Laguna Beach’ star has revealed some of her fellow cast mates hired professional make-up artists to beautify them before being caught on camera.

She explained: “I can’t speak for all of the women, but I know some of the girls on the show hired their own hair and make-up artists to get ready before they filmed. But I certainly did not.”

Although Lo didn’t require a team of beauticians to prepare her for her stint on the show, she believes she has a hidden knack for perfecting the latest make-up trends, and must have been a beauty expert in her former life.

She quipped: “I have always been a lover of makeup since I was a kid, when I had my parents buy me Kevyn Aucoin’s first make-up book. Maybe in another life I was a make-up artist, because it’s so fun for me just to play with colour, to play.”
