Lea Michele has split from Robert Buckley.

The 'Scream Queens' star began dating the 35-year-old actor - who she stars with in upcoming sci-fi series 'Dimension 404' - earlier this year but they have reportedly decided to end their romantic relationship but want to stay friends.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: "[They] just found they were better off as friends and wanted to support each other's careers."

The insider admitted the pair's respective busy schedules also contributed to the break-up.

The news came not long after the 29-year-old beauty spoke of how "super happy" and lucky she felt with Robert.

She said: "You know, I'm just feeling really great right now and super happy. I feel very, very, very lucky and grateful in my life right now and that's all that matters."

The pair got together not long after the former 'Glee' star was suddenly dumped by Matthew Paetz.

An insider shared at the time: "She got no reason or explanation for the split. She was also very supportive of him even when her friends were skeptical of him. Lea wanted to believe in love and wanted to believe the good in him.

"He ended up being an opportunist who took advantage and broke up with her in a very heartless way ... Their split is a huge shock to all their friends. Lea and Matthew were talking about getting engaged as recently as around the holidays. Everyone thought they would get engaged soon, but definitely not split."

However, their relationship had been on the rocks for some time, according to Matthew's pals.

They said: "They've been hot and cold for some time now - one day fighting and the next madly in love. Friends believe that Lea's success came between the two and Matthew began to resent Lea. The two just stopped working. [He] wanted to get out of town for a bit to clear his head."
