Liv Tyler has shared an adorable picture of her breastfeeding her newborn daughter.

The 39-year-old actress and fiance Dave Gardner welcomed little Lula into the world two weeks ago and she has now taken to Instagram to share a cute black-and-white photo, in which she is make-up free and laying on a bed while nursing Lula.

The 'Leftovers' star - who is the daughter of Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler - also posted a gushing message with the snap and called baby Lula her "precious gift".

Alongside the picture, she wrote: "Sunday morning snuggles with my baby girl. So grateful for this precious gift."

Liv - who also has Milo, 11, from her previous marriage to Royston Langdon and 16-month-old Sailor with Dave - said her "heart was exploding with love" after giving birth to her daughter.

Alongside the first picture of baby Lula, she wrote on Instagram: "Hello!!!!! our beautiful baby girl is here !!!! Lula Rose Gardner, we are sooooo happy, heart exploding with love !!!! @davidgardner (sic)"

Meanwhile, her sports agent husband Dave - who also has an eight-year-old son, Gray - from a previous marriage - already has plans for Lula and wants her brothers to become martial arts experts.

At the time, he wrote: "Our gorgeous baby girl has arrived "Lula Rose Gardner" unbelievably beautiful, healthy and thank goodness she looks like her Momma !!!! Truly blessed. Daddies girl....Now the real work starts training her big brothers to all become Ninja's, Martial Arts Experts & 24-7 Body Guards !!! @misslivalittle (sic)"

Liv and David are planning to spend more time in the UK as they are currently going "back and forth" a lot and think it would benefit the kids if they are all together in one place.

Liv previously shared: "We are back and forth. I am still mostly in New York but spending a lot of time here. David's son is here and also his job. It's hard. It's beautiful. It is what it is. It's what we signed up for. It's an evolving thing.

"Next year we are going to be here for sure, for school, so the children can all be under one roof for at least the school year."
