Tom Hanks is selling two Pacific Palisades homes for $18 million

The 60-year-old actor and his wife Rita Wilson, 59, have put two side-by-side mansions up for sale in the swanky Los Angeles area, which is popular with celebrities.

E! News reports that one house costs $8.75 million, while the second is on the market for $9.25 million.

The first is a 3,930 square-foot, Spanish-style villa with four bedrooms and five bathrooms and impressive views of the Santa Monica Mountains.

Tom and Rita's second home is a 7,260 square-foot, English country-style property, which has seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

    Both have large outdoor spaces.

Although they are selling two houses in the area, Tom and Rita currently live in a 14,500-square-foot home in Pacific Palisades, which they paid $26.1 million for.

They also own three other properties nearby, along with a beach house in Malibu and a holiday home in Idaho.

Meanwhile, Tom recently revealed he is keeping the signs of ageing at bay with yoga, which prevents him from having aches and pains.

He said: "So I'm like, OK, I don't even have aches and pains. Because I started stretching. I started doing the yoga. It's the greatest thing.

"But you don't want to go too [far]. You don't want to put on yoga pants and burn incense and chant. I just turn on the radio really loud and count it out. I view it as glorified sit-ups. That's what I say."

And the 'Captain Phillips' actor previously proclaimed he has the best job in the world.

He said: "Some people are in showbusiness for twisted reasons. Power. They want to get laid. The money is good.

"But when I stumbled into this, I did it because it was fun and I'm no good at anything else. To get paid to make movies? This is the greatest gig in the world."
