Lindsay Lohan's mother is "very happy" the actress has split from her fiancé

The 30-year-old actress parted ways with her fiancé Egor Tarabasov over allegations that the businessman was violent toward her, with the 'Mean Girls' star previously accusing him of strangling her, and fearing that he might "splash acid in [her] face."

Now, Dina Lohan has spoken out about her daughter's ordeal, saying she's very glad her daughter is no longer in an "abusive" relationship.

Speaking to E! News, the 54-year-old television personality said: "In this instance, very happy. I can sleep at night. He was just very young and it just wasn't working out. It got to the point where it was abusive. And I'm a victim of domestic abuse and it's hard."

"I never thought in a million years my daughter would have to experience that, but she did, and fortunately she's out and happy and done with it. I wish him well and I hope he gets help because he was a nice man."

And the 'Living Lohan' star also claims that the pair are "completely over", and that her superstar daughter is thinking about settling down to start a family.

She said: "She just wants to have babies and settle down. She's like 30 which makes me 130."

Lindsay recently accused Egor of breaking into her house and attacking her.

She said: "I went to bed and he broke into my house. He started strangling me.

"I feared that Egor may splash acid in my face.

"I jumped out to the balcony and shouted with all my force, 'He's trying to kill me, call the police!' I am lucky to come to Moscow to speak."

However, Egor has denied all claims in a statement which read: "It has come to my attention that my former fiancée, Lindsay Lohan, is planning new smear campaign against me in the Russian and international media.

"My relationship with Lindsay came to an end in July 2016. In the weeks that followed, there were numerous attempts to discredit my name by inaccurately portraying the nature of our relationship, publishing distorted facts, and making false accusations.

"I decided not to address those harmful and false statements at that time. As an international businessman, I aim to maintain a low profile and concentrate on developing my business. I also chose to keep my silence out of respect for Lindsay.

"Today, I would like to state that all accusations made, and about to be made, by Lindsay against me are not true.

"I refuse to be dragged into the media storm created in the aftermath of our breakup. I will not be making any more statements with regards to my former relationship with Lindsay, but I will use all possible legal means to protect my name and reputation."
