Elvis Presley was shocked Priscilla Presley wanted a divorce

The 71-year-old actress, who was married to the late music legend for six years from 1967, has revealed the musician was surprised when she wanted to call time on their romance, although Priscilla has revealed she didn't end their relationship because she fell out of love with her former partner.

Speaking about the split on ITV's 'Loose Women' on Wednesday (16.11.16), the brunette beauty said: "It was a shock.

"I didn't divorce him because I didn't love him. He was the love of my life.

    "As a woman, I didn't know who I was. I realised, 'I don't know who I am.'"

And the star has clarified she left the 'Can't Help Falling In Love' hitmaker because she wanted to "find out" more about the world.

She explained: "I left because I needed to find out what the world was like. It was one world but we still loved each other."

Despite admitting she still held a soft spot for Elvis - who died in 1977 - after their break up, Priscilla has admitted she never needed therapy to cope with the end of their relationship.

The 'Dallas' star - who has 48-year-old daughter Lisa Marie Presley with Elvis - said: "It was a journey but I never had therapy."

Meanwhile, Priscilla has revealed she has removed all pictures of her with her ex-partner from her home because she was "worried" anyone she would date after Elvis would be put off by her history with the American idol.

The businesswoman said: "I didn't have pictures around to remind guys that I was with Elvis Presley, because I always [worried] about that. In their face all the time!

"I was so conscious of dating. Each relationship I have to say I've always been friends [afterwards]."
