The Weeknd rented out a whole cinema for a date with Selena Gomez

The 'Can't Feel My Face' singer was joined in his hometown of Toronto, Canada with the 'Heart Wants What It Wants' singer and the pair kept themselves to themselves by hiring out an entire movie theatre to watch 'Get Out'.

An assistant reportedly went to the theatre earlier in the day to book the experience, which would have cost them about $1,500 plus tax.

When it came to the evening, Selena and The Weeknd arrived before the 9.45pm start and were ushered into the building in a service elevator.

An eyewitness told Canada's etalk: "She was super cute with him ... arms around his neck."

The pair also ordered a series of tasty treats including two popcorns, two chocolate bars, packs of Sour Patch Kids, three Diet Cokes and two gin and tonics.

Earlier in the day, the pair went out for lunch at the Thompson Diner inside the Thompson Toronto Hotel.

The 27-year-old singer - whose real name is Abel Tesfaye - dined on chicken and waffles whilst Selena opted for egg whites, ham, potatoes and toast.

And the pair isn't afraid of splashing the cash on each other as Selena recently shelled out $30,000 on a birthday party for her boyfriend.

The party was held at Dave & Buster's in Hollywood in February and was attended by the singer's pals including French Montana, Big Sean and 2 Chainz.

The group partied there until the early hours of the morning but Selena herself was unable to make the event as she was in New York for Fashion Week.
