Gavin Rossdale doesn't want any of his three sons to follow in his footsteps and become musicians

The Bush frontman raises Kingston, 10, Zuma, eight, and Apollo, three, with his ex-wife Gwen Stefani but he hopes none of them aspire to be like their famous father or mother because "you've got to be crazy to have a career in music".

And Gavin just wants his sons and model daughter Daisy Lowe - his child with Pearl Lowe - to be "positive people" who "contribute to society".

In an interview on UK TV show 'This Morning', he said: "You've got to be crazy to have a career in music. I would say go into tech, do something like that. I have so many children, it is my responsibility to make them contribute to society as oppose to take away from society. So whatever they do is fine by me, they've just got to be positive, cool people, that's all I care about."

Gavin, 51, was talking to hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to promote his new album with Bush 'Black and White Rainbows' and talent show 'The Voice UK', on which he acts as a mentor.

The rocker readily admits that 47-year-old Gwen - who he split from in August 2008 after 13 years of marriage and eventually divorced in April 2016 - is a major influence on his new songs.

When asked about whether Gwen still influences his music, Gavin said: "Of course. I was with her for 20 years, so much in the same way I think for her material, I'm all over that material. And for me, she's all over mine. It's impossible to separate that."
