Harry Styles will release new music on April 7

The One Direction singer is set to debut his solo single next month, according to a teaser video which aired during 'The Voice' on ITV on Saturday (25.03.17).

The short clip shows the star, soaking wet, walking across a room in shadow before walking through a door bathed in light. Piano music can be heard playing in the background and "April 7" flashes up on screen at the end.

Harry's announcement came after iHeartRadio DJ Elvis Duran revealed he had heard the single and said it would be released on April 7.

It was recently revealed that Harry recorded his debut solo album in Jamaica.

His close pal, BBC Radio One DJ Nick Grimshaw, explained that Harry, 23, jetted out to the Caribbean island to lay down the songs for his record and joked that he expects it to be "awful reggae".

Nick, 32, said: "He's [Harry] worried I won't like his new solo record.

"He recorded it in Jamaica so I'm praying it's some awful white man reggae."

And Ed Sheeran revealed Harry turned down one of the songs he wrote for his record because he wanted to head in a different direction.

The 'Shape of You' singer recently said: "He came round like two years ago and we jammed out a song. I think he's gone in a totally different direction now.

"It's really good. Anything he puts out is going to be massive, let's be honest. But I think it's very good musically as well."

Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid recently claimed that Harry's solo music will "surprise" everyone.

The 40-year-old rocker and his band mate Gary Lightbody have both worked with Harry and they are convinced his solo offerings will be very different from the tracks he recorded with the boy band.

He previously told BANG Showbiz: "Gary and I have both written with Harry. Gary wrote on the second to last One Direction album 'Four'. We have worked with Harry he is a really great guy. I think he will surprise people. I don't know much about what he's going to do or his plans but he's a really lovely guy."
