    Man dies after attack in Auckland

    Two people have been arrested after a man, aged in his 60s, died when he was badly beaten in Papakura in south Auckland overnight.


    A man aged in his 60s has died after been badly badly beaten in south Auckland, with police arresting two people over the incident

    The man was taken to Middlemore Hospital in critical condition after being assaulted in Papakura about 2.40am on Saturday, Detective Senior Sergeant Richard O'Connor says.

    The attack took place on the corner of Elliot Street and Great South Road, and the man later died in hospital from his injuries in hospital, Det Sen Sgt O'Connor says.
