Man arrested for Greymouth BP robbery

A man is due to appear in court on Monday on aggravated robbery charges relating to the Greymouth BP hold-up with a samurai sword.

A 37-year-old man has been arrested for the robbery of the Greymouth BP a week ago during which a samurai sword was used.

The robbery was at 3.15am on Saturday a week ago, and police said at the time cash was taken.

The station attendant was not hurt but was shaken by the ordeal.

Police say they have arrested a man who will be charged with aggravated robbery.

He will appear in Greymouth District Court on Monday.
