Donald Trump was supposed to play the president in 2015's 'Sharknado 3'
The 71-year-old politician pulled out of depicting the commander-in-chief in the disaster action movie in order to run for the White House the following year, but the film's producers have revealed Trump was "thrilled" at the prospect of playing the US president at the time.

Producer David Latt told the Hollywood Reporter: "The Donald said yes.
He was thrilled to be asked."
However, they also said that their first choice to star as the leader of the free world, who lives in Washington, D.C where the movie is set, was Sarah Palin.

Earlier this week it was revealed that Trump was turned down for a cameo in 'The Simpsons.'
A producer for the beloved animated series - which is famous for its celebrity cameos - revealed he turned down a request from the commander-in-chief of the United States Armed Forces to voice his own character in the cartoon.
ex ecutive producer Al Jean was asked at last weekend's Comic-Con panel if he had ever refused a celebrity request to appear in the series, and he responded: 'Let's just say he's the president of the United States.'
