Hoffman returns to the Storm for 2018 NRL

Veteran second-rower Ryan Hoffman is set to return to Melbourne for the 2018 NRL season.

Ryan Hoffman is set to finish his NRL career where it started, returning to premiers Melbourne for the 2018 season.

The 33-year-old second-rower played 245 of his 305 first-grade games with the Storm, making his debut in 2003.

Hoffman has spent the past three seasons at the Warriors, including one as captain.

He was part of three grand final wins with Melbourne, although two titles were stripped due to salary cap infringements, and was made a life member of the club in 2013.

The Storm also confirmed the signing of Cowboys prop Patrick Kaufusi, the younger brother of Felise.

"Ryan Hoffman is going to add some much needed experience and leadership to the squad," Storm Footbal Director Frank Ponissi said in a statement.

"Having lost three forwards from our grand final team in Jordan McLean, Tohu Harris and Slade Griffin, we believe Hoffman and Patrick Kaufusi are valuable inclusions that will help offset the departure of that trio."

Both players will link up with their teammates in November when the first group of players return to the club to commence pre-season training.
