Karin Dor has died aged 79

The Bond girl, best known for portraying flame-haired villain Helga Brandt alongside Sir Sean Connery in 'You Only Live Twice', passed away at her home in Germany this week

Her son told German newspaper Bild that she died at a care home in Munich.

Last year, she suffered a heavy fall and failed to recover from the injuries.

In 1967 movie 'You Only Live Twice', Karin's character Helga/ No. 11 was a SPECTRE assassin and secretary to Japanese industrialist Mr.

    Osato (Teru Shimada).

Helga was sent to kill Sean's 007 alter-ego but she was seduced by him instead.

Things didn't end well for her character as Blofeld - played by Donald Pleasence - opened a trap door which dropped her into a pool filled of piranhas as punishment for failing to do away with Bond.

Karin also appeared in Sir Alfred Hitchcock's movie 'Topaz' in 1969 alongside Frederick Stafford and Dany Robin.

The late star landed her first screen role aged 17 in 'Rosen-Resli'.

Director Harald Reinl was impressed with her ability and cast her in 'The Silent Angel', and then married her in 1954.

The pair divorced in 1968 and Karin went on to tie the knot to Günther Schmucker in 1972 but they split two years later.

Her third and final husband was former 'Batman' stuntman George Robotham, who Karin married in 1988 and was with up until his death in 2007.
