Matt Smith has a scar on his chin from falling at James Corden's wedding

The 'Crown' star tripped up the stairs when he was celebrating James tying the knot with Julia Carey at Babington House in Somerset five years ago and still has a permanent reminder of his drunken escapades

Interviewing Matt on The Late Late Show with James Corden, the host said: "You were the star of our wedding in many ways. Do you remember anything about that day?"

To which Matt replied: "I've got a scar on my chin where I fell up the stairs. I fell in a fireplace - twice! It wasn't alight, thank God; I am a fire hazard. I danced with Kylie Minogue, which was glorious. And then your dad put me in a car. At the end, he was like, 'Matt ... Come on, son. It's time. It's time.' He put me in the car; it was a silver Mercedes. I got in, and I closed the door, and I got around the side and ran back inside! But what a wedding."

Meanwhile, James previously admitted Julia wasn't aware of who he was when they first fell in love.

Speaking in 2016, he said: "I could never understand when I watch romantic comedies the notion that for some reason unattractive or heavy people don't fall in love. If they do, it's in some odd, kooky, roundabout way - and it's not. It's exactly the same. I met my wife; she barely owned a television and worked for Save the Children. We sat down one night and we fell in love and that was it."
