Ed Sheeran plans to fly his girlfriend out to see him regularly while he is on tour in Europe

The 26-year-old singer is keen to see Cherry Seaborn on as many weekends as possible when he hits the road again on his 'Divide Tour', and she will jump on a plane to see him during the European leg of his run of shows

He said: "It’s actually really easy for Cherry to come. She works and can’t give up her job.

"But it’s gonna be easy because it’s weekends and two months of it is in Europe so she can just pop out."

Ed will resume his 'Divide Tour' in March when he heads to Australia and New Zealand following a three-month break, after which he will play three shows in Japan and one in the Philippines in April before heading to Europe in May.

While the 'Perfect' hitmaker has plenty of incredible countries lined up to see this year, he insists 2018 is going to be "boring".

He said: "It’s gonna be a kind of boring year.

"There’s not actually going to be that much going on other than touring."

As well as playing shows, Ed - who made a cameo appearance in 'Game of Thrones' last year - plans to hit the studio with his 'Shape of You' co-writer Steve Mac to work on new material and will also be researching an upcoming movie role.

He added to The Sun newspaper: “I’m gonna do a lot of songwriting, I’m gonna go back in with Steve Mac and start something.

“I’m also doing a movie, putting that together, and that shoots in 2019.”

Ed previously revealed he is going to star in and record the soundtrack for a motion picture which he hopes will be like an "'8 Mile' meets 'Notting Hill'" production.

He said: "I’m working on one film, I’m gonna do the soundtrack of and star in and essentially help put together.

"I wanted to do ‘8 Mile’ meets ‘Notting Hill’."
