French Montana has helped open a new hospital in Uganda

The kind-hearted rapper donated $100,000 to help provide for pregnant women in the African nation, and following the 'Unforgettable' hitmaker's generous gesture, both The Weeknd and Diddy agreed to match his donation and now the Suubi Health Centre is up and running and able to meet the needs of over 300,000 people

The 33-year-old rapper admitted in November he was proud of the efforts he'd spearheaded in the nation, which he'd pledged to help after visiting a year ago to find artistic inspiration.

Speaking when work was being finalised on the clinic, he previously said: "We did it from the heart. Shout out to The Weeknd, Puff Daddy, and Ciroc. Every dollar from French Vanilla is going into the hospital and Mama Hope Foundation.

"Shout out to Global Citizen for letting me be the first rapper to represent this because they know my heart's in the right place."

French celebrated the anniversary of the trip on Instagram earlier this week.

He wrote: "Happy one year anniversary to my family in Uganda can't believe we got so much done in one year !! Thank u for the opportunity (sic)"

The 'Hurtin' Me' hitmaker was the first hip-hop artist to be named a Global Citizen Ambassador last year, and revealed he planned to take his philanthropic efforts throughout Africa and, following his work in Uganda, was looking to his native Morocco as the next place to focus his efforts to improve healthcare.

He said at the time: "The whole idea of this is to spark the mind of the world leaders, you know. To help them do something on a bigger scale than what we doing. I just feel like all the mothers and children should have the right care, you know. It should never be a privilege, it should be a right."
