The Spanish world number one has won 48 consecutive sets of tennis on clay and will break John McEnroe's record of 49 sets on any surface if he wins his third round match at the Madrid Masters tonight.
Nadal plays Argentine Diego Schwartzman for a place in the quarter finals.
He says when he goes on court tomorrow all he wants to do is try to win the match.
