The Government is putting an extra 81 million dollars into predator control

Conservation Minister Eugenie Sage made the announcement at a native bush reserve in Wellington this morning.

The money will be spread over four years, so DOC can get a grip on predators on more than 1.8 million hectares.

Sage says it's the largest area ever covered, and roughly the size of Northland and Auckland combined.

She says the injection is only the start of the Government's investment in nature.
