Dunedin motel owners are concerned they're not on an even playing field with Airbnb hosts

The Dunedin City Council will discuss a report next week showing Airbnb income in the city has more than doubled over the past year.
Otago Motel Association president Alex Greenan says because Airbnb hosts don't have to pay the same levies and rates, they're able to undercut motel owners.
He says the association wants the council to introduce those same rates for hosts.
Greenan says at the end of the day, if someone is using their property as a business there's a cost to the city.
