Health Minister Dr David Clark says the funding will help relieve the pressure DHBs have been under.
He says the Government has also set aside a further 100 million next year for additional deficit support.
A further 126 million of operational funding will go directly into planned care to keep up with demand for elective surgeries.
David Clark says while this is the largest increase DHBs have had in the last decade, it won't be enough to make up for underfunding.
