Greg Inglis will lead the Maroons in next week's State of Origin series opener, following Cameron Smith's retirement, with Andrew McCullough replacing Smith at hooker.
Retired greats Johnathan Thurston and Cooper Cronk have been replaced by Cameron Munster and Ben Hunt in the halves, while there's no room for veterans Matt Scott and Darius Boyd.
Queensland coach Kevin Walters has defended their decision to pick Valentine Holmes ahead of Boyd on the left wing.
Walters says they're being loyal to the players who performed in game three last year and some of Holmes' tries still stick in his mind.
New South Wales coach Brad Fittler is also expected to usher in a new era, with 11 debutants tipped to be named in his first Blues squad tonight.
