Uncertainty appears to the buzz word for Auckland's business community
8 June 2018
Auckland Business Chamber's latest survey shows 44 percent of businesses believe the economy will deteriorate further.
Twelve months ago, just eight percent believed the economy would deteriorate over the next six months.
Chamber chief executive Michael Barnett says business confidence has gone into free fall.
He says the minimum wage has gone up, businesses have been told if they can't afford to pay 20 dollars an in a couple of years time they shouldn't be in business.
Barnett says fuel's going and there are employment changes all of which making small and medium businesses uncertain.
