An early morning warehouse fire in Takanini has been brought under control by around 50 firefighters

Crews were called to the bulk timber and aluminium door factory shortly after 5.30 this morning.

The Great South Road factory has sustained substantial damage to the rear of the building, and crews remain on site dampening down hotspots.

Fire and Emergency shift manager Paul Radin, says the building was well involved in fire when crews arrived.

He says the fire is contained and there are investigators at the scene to determine what the cause of the fire could be.
