Concern about the possible sale of Auckland parkland - and now worry about the city's marinas

Auckland Council's copping criticism for allowing the sale of prime land at Pine Harbour and Bayswater Marina Village - where developer Simon Herbert plans to build luxury-style apartments.
His company, Empire Capital, is also in pole position to buy land around Hobsonville Marina.
Councillor John Watson says while the council's set to sell more than 600-million-dollars of public assets over the next decade - marinas are the first to go because they're the easiest sell.
He believes they'll go for fire sale prices, which beggars belief.
