The head of a notorious Auckland gang is out of prison after a decade-long sentence for P dealing and laundering the profits through his rap label

Joshua James Masters, of the Killer Beez gang, has been released by the Parole Board this month as he was no longer considered an undue risk to the safety of the community.

A psychologist's report says the gang leader has a high to moderate risk of re-offending, and so the Parole Board has imposed a number of special conditions on his release.

Masters' behaviour in prison has been described as confrontational and intimidating, and he still ran the Killer Beez from behind bars.

The board has ruled he won't be allowed to associate with gang members, will be GPS-monitored, and is forbidden to drink alcohol or take drugs.
