The Melbourne Rebels have fined departing forwards Amanaki Mafi and Lopeti Timani 15,000 Australian dollars each for their physical altercation in Dunedin last weekend

Japan international Mafi was charged with a criminal offence after an alleged assault on former Wallaby Timani following the season-ending Super Rugby defeat to the Highlanders.



SANZAAR chief executive Andy Marinos wants referees to take full responsibility for on-field decisions.

The four-headed organisation will undertake a review after criticism of the television match official process, before taking their recommendations to World Rugby.

Marinos says it's important referees call matches how they see them.
