Sam Asghari "tried to be funny" when he first met Britney Spears by forgetting her name

The 24-year-old personal trainer tried his best to make an impression on his now-girlfriend when they met on the set of her music video for 'Slumber Party' but it didn't go to plan

Speaking to Men’s Health, he said: "I was excited that I get to meet one of the biggest artists of all time. I had butterflies. She said, 'Hi, I’m Britney,' and I said, ‘I’m sorry. What’s your name again?’ I tried to be funny. I don’t think anybody got it."

Sam has been full of love for Britney since they first met and previously revealed he is "humbled" by his girlfriend.

Captioning a string of pictures of the blonde beauty, Sam wrote: "Not going to wait until tomorrow to express my love for the one that humbles me women crush ( not only on Wednesday’s) but everyday.

    #shehumblesme (sic)"

The 36-year-old singer previously revealed how she and her beau got to know each other.

She shared: "We were doing the scene where I was doing the walk scene through the hall to go through the door to go to the bedroom and we were sitting there and waiting and waiting together for like 20 minutes at a time.

"We were having to be literally stuck there together, so we were basically forced to talk to each other ... I kept his number, and it was so weird - it was like five months later, and I found his number in my bag. I was like, 'He is really cute. This guy is really cute.'

So then I called him, and ever since then ... He is just a really fun, funny person."
