PHARMAC's campaign 'Keep Antibiotics Working' launched this week raises awareness that antibiotics don't actually affect colds and flues.
PHARMAC Deputy Medical Director Bryan Betty says seven-hundred-thousand people die a year from antimicrobial resistance where antibiotics don't work.
He says antibiotics are useful in treating serious and bacterial infections but PHARMAC are responsible in ensuring they remain effective.
