Kirk Douglas still works out with a trainer

The 101-year-old actor has showed no signs of slowing down as he still likes to get his sweat on daily to ensure his organs are healthy and his joints are mobile

Speaking on Britain's 'Lorraine' on Wednesday (18.07.18), Kirk's son Michael said: "He's discovered FaceTime. Whenever I am, restaurants [or anywhere]...it gives him a chance to see. I show him round the room to everybody or I show him out the window. He loves it. He still has a trainer. He works out with a trainer at 101."

And, although he'd love to see his father more, Michael has his hands full with his own acting career, his children Dylan, 17, and Carys, 15, whom he has with his wife Catherine Zeta Jones, and now he's a grandfather to his son Cameron's daughter.

The 73-year-old star explained: "Catherine is wonderful. It's a great time. Dylan is off to college next year. Cameron is doing really well. He got back his career and he made me a grandfather. It's great. I'm really happy about it.

"I still have a kid in the house, grandchildren are great when you are an empty nester. I'm sure once Carys is out there, I'll really be reaching out."

Michael would also like to see Dylan and Carys follow in his acting footsteps.

He added: "Dylan, no doubt about it, Carys. I was talking with Dad the other day, between the two of us we've done over 160 movies covering 80 years, so another generation will get past 200 movies and a hundred years."

But, in the meantime, Michael is still keen to bag as many roles as possible.

He explained: "I love it. I'm 73, it's fantastic. There's still a need for older actors. It's my 50th years in the business. I always go on what would be a good movie. My producing background looking or what is a good film. But I'd never done a green screen movie. I never knew how hard it was to act when there's nothing there."
