    The price of food could be about to jump through the roof


    State-owned enterprise- Landcorp- has made a submission to the tax working group calling for the introduction of a tax on water and nitrogen fertiliser.

    But National's agriculture spokesperson Nathan Guy says it's a bad move.

    He says it'll push the cost of food up for consumers and impact our international status as being one of the most efficient producers of food in the world.
