    Oropi Road, south of State Highway 29 in Tauranga, will stay closed overnight and into tomorrow after a sinkhole opened this afternoon


    It opened up in the middle of the road, near the Oropi Stream Bridge, and is approximately 1.5-metres wide and four metres deep.

    Contractors are scheduled to repair the road tomorrow morning.

    Motorists are advised to use the Shane Road and Oropi Gorge Road diversion.
