Funding has been announced to lower the bowel cancer screening age from sixty to fifty-years-old for Maori and Pacific people

An extra sixty-thousand people will receive bowel cancer screening every year because of the scheme, which will cost the Government thirty-six million across four years.
Maori and Pacific people are twice as likely to get bowel cancer before they reach sixty-years-old than non-Maori.
