Ireland coach Andy Farrell concedes his side were well beaten, but believes his young charges will be better for the 32-17 loss to the Maori All Blacks

Ireland coach Andy Farrell concedes his side were well beaten, but believes his young charges will be better for the 32-17 loss to the Maori All Blacks

The hosts ran in four tries to two in Hamilton, scoring all their points in the first spell and conceded just two tries to the largely inexperienced Irish.

Farrell says they had their chances.

Maori coach Clayton McMillan says their stunning first 40 set up the win.

The two sides meet again Tuesday week in Wellington, while Ireland now focuses on the first test against the All Blacks.
