Te Paati Maori's called for Children's Minister Kelvin Davis to resign

It follows the murder of five-year-old Malachi Subecz , by his carer who'd been approved by Oranga Tamariki.

The Ombudsman's found the agency failed to take the bare minimum action for the child -- and Rawiri Waititi says Davis is to blame, as the minister presiding over it.

But Jacinda Ardern's assured the Minister his job is safe.

She says she has confidence in the Minister for Children because his entire focus is about preventing the kind of tragic and horrific circumstances reported around the death of Malachi.
