The New Zealand team have had quite a day at their maiden home Sail GP event on Lyttelton Harbour

The first race was delayed by dolphins swimming through the course... France won that, with Peter Burling's Kiwi crew second.

Then the hosts sailed home from the front of the fleet in the second race.

A penalty before the start in race three saw them last off the line - but Burling's outfit quickly made up ground... sailing through the fleet to finish second, behind Canada.

So it's New Zealand on top of the leaderboard after day 1, followed by the Canadians and the British.
