Further probes may be needed into how Auckland deals with emergencies

A review of the response to the Auckland Anniversary weekend floods, has found communication issues and preparation failures.

It's made 17 recommendations including a more connected IT system for communication and more outreach to community groups.

Maungakiekie-Tamaki ward councillor Josephine Bartley says there are more tough questions to ask.

She says there should be further reviews into how the floods affected Aucklanders - including those living in their cars.
