The strain of high performance sport was showing for Aimee Fisher, after losing yet again to Dame Lisa Carrington... in the women's K1 500 finals at the Nationals

Carrington booked her ticket to the canoe sprint world championships in August today with a 1.89 second victory over Fisher on Lake Karapiro - taking the sole spot for New Zealand in Germany.

Fisher will still head offshore next week alongside the five-time Olympic champion, to the first World Cup in Hungary... but the 2021 world champ was feeling the strain after her defeat.
