Reports a police complaint may be made, following an altercation at the West Coast Regional Council

According to the Local Democracy Reporting service, councillor Frank Dooley allegedly tried to forcibly remove former chairman Allan Birchfield from a meeting room, before the recruitment of a new chief executive.

Birchfield says he is considering his options, including laying a complaint with police.
