    NRL football boss Graham Annesley has defended the decision to put Tigers forward Stefano Utoikamanu on report during their loss to the Warriors

    The prop was deemed to have raised his elbow towards the neck of hooker Wayde Egan, hospitalising him.

    Utoikamanu escaped without punishment, but Annesley says the call was right.



    Warriors wing Dallin Watene-Zelezniak was charged for a similar incident, thrusting his arm towards the throat of Tigers second-rower John Bateman.

    He can accept a thousand dollar fine, or risk getting pinged 1500 bucks if he unsuccessfully contests the charge.
